With eight years of tutoring experience, I feel confident that I can provide students with the skill-set and motivation they need to succeed academically. My tutoring style is approachable, personable, patient and knowledgeable. I have high expectations for all the students I tutor; I believe in uncovering potential that students did not even know they had.

As a former Fulbright teaching assistant and a language instructor at UCLA, I have been trained in the most up-to-date teaching methods. These jobs have also given me the invaluable experience of teaching hundreds of students with different learning styles, educational goals, personalities, and aspirations.

My tutoring stems from my own love of learning. I graduated summa cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University with a double major in English and Spanish. After completing a Fulbright in Mexico and perfecting my Spanish, I enrolled in an M.A. program in Spanish at UCLA. I am now completing my Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures at the same institution.

In terms of relevant classes and exams, I attended a competitive private high school where I took A.P U.S. History, A.P. Spanish Language and Literature and Honors English. In college and graduate school, I took a wide range of history, literature, art history, political science, and English classes. I feel very comfortable tutoring any class in the social sciences or the humanities. I also love to teach SAT and GRE prep; I scored in the top 1-10th percentile in the SAT and GRE verbal and writing sections.
