Hi there! My name is Emma, and I’ve been tutoring students in English, Reading, and Writing for about four years now. I earned my English degree at the University of Michigan and then later received my MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University.

I love to write and read, and try to pass some of that enthusiasm on in my lessons! I know reading and writing well can be a huge challenge for some, and I like to break down these challenges into smaller goals that we can achieve together over time. I believe all students can produce great writing, because every voice is unique. (I especially enjoy helping students craft their perfect college essay!)

My priority is giving my students a clear understanding of the subject and the ways in which they can work to improve their performance. I also want to help them overcome any personal challenges or roadblocks they may have that prevents them from performing at their highest ability. I want my students to leave our lessons feeling more confident in their skills than before!
