Keara

Hi, I’m Keara! I am a first-year graduate student at UCLA pursuing my Master’s in Public Policy with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley. I love working with youth and have always found a capacity to do so over the years. As a tutor, I keep work fun and efficient with the end goal always being student success. I love helping others learn and understand complex concepts and have tutored peers and family members informally over the course of my academic and professional career. I also have experience teaching larger groups through my student orientation role at UC Berkeley and leading large trainings in a professional capacity.

I believe the most important aspect of tutoring is really getting to know what drives each unique student to succeed and how to work with individual learning styles. I always come prepared, organized, and optimistic to any teaching experience ready to help students succeed and I am well-versed in most subjects. Relevant coursework I have taken and am the most well-versed in includes: Economics (Macro and Micro) English Literature, Political Science, Statistics, and U.S Political Institutions, Writing Composition. I received top scores on the SAT, ACT, and multiple AP classes in high school. I have also been trained on reading personal statements and evaluating peer applications.

In my spare time, when I am not in class, I love to spend time at the beach, explore new restaurants in L.A., and spend time with friends and family.
