Mary

I’ve been tutoring a variety of subjects for the last eight years. My areas of focus include Math, Economics, Spanish, English Composition, and Test Prep. I have worked with a range of students, from ages 5 to 60+. After graduating from Boston College with a degree in Economics (minors in Math and Spanish), I spent a volunteer year in Kansas City managing a tutoring center at a small college that served many first generation students, many of whom who were living below the poverty line. My appreciation for education as a tool for economic development and personal growth grew immensely that year. Afterwards, I moved backed to Massachusetts to pursue a masters in public policy. I continued to tutor on the side, as well as work at an international nonprofit. After graduating, I moved to Ecuador for a year. I worked part time as a research assistant at a business school in Quito and continued to tutor online. Currently, I am back stateside working at a mental health nonprofit and tutoring on the side.

I strive to create a partnership with my students, always aiming to build my students’ confidence and deepen their knowledge. I am upbeat, open, and patient. My number one goal is to mold students who are inquisitive, confident, and believe in their ability to grow their skills.
