I recently graduated from Brigham Young University of Idaho with a B.A. in English. I’ve been an online writing tutor for two years. Rather than simply editing papers, I believe in helping people understand how to improve their papers. I know writing and understanding the meaning behind literature is difficult. Rather than simply telling students what a symbol means, I want to teach them how to look at the text for evidence. My goal when tutoring is for students to become independent.
In addition to my degree, I am a published writer. My own short story “The Boxes” was published in BYU-Idaho’s literary magazine. It was awarded second place. I also have published three different poems in different poetry contests.
During my breaks from school, I worked as a Special Education Aide. I know how to help students focus on their work and better understand the concepts behind their homework.
