David

I’ve tutored on-and-off most of my adult life. During college, I tutored high school and middle-school students. Most recently, I’ve tutored a group of at-risk students. I’ve been successful in tutoring because I find it easier to instill instinct and intuition than to teach rules and formulas. Helping with homework is a great way to find and fill the gaps in the student’s thought process.

Tutoring is most rewarding when I see a student grow in enthusiasm and confidence in the way they think and solve problems. It’s more than school work; it’s about maturity in how they approach, interact with and understand the world around them.

Hobbies

If tutoring can be a hobby, it would be my favorite (followed closely by music and tennis). In my spare time, I love to challenge students to go beyond jargon and buzzword and learn to articulate ideas succinctly (yes, they do love to argue with me). I also enjoy mentoring young professionals. This is something I've consistently taken interest in during my years in the corporate world.
