About TOEFL

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

Succeed as a non-native English speaker and achieve a valuable education.

Our experienced tutors help students get into the American University of their dreams by dispelling the myths and mysteries associated with the TOEFL examination. Our tutors will teach you the traps and tricks behind conquering Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing so that you score higher than you ever have. Our TOEFL specialists implement evidence-based teaching approaches utilizing the most ideal study tools—real TOEFLs. Our TOEFL specialists believe in the importance of reviewing both correct and missed questions with our students, explaining each clearly. We understand that mastering the thinking-process behind a correct answer is as effective as knowing why a question was incorrect. In addition, to target where students are disengaging, our tutors counsel students on the important, frequently overlooked details like time management during the exam, questions to skip, prior-night planning, and what to do the morning of test day.

The exam is scored on a percentile scale from 1-100 and is administered on a computer.
The Reading section is a 60-80-minute, 12-14 question section.
The Listening section is a 60-90 minute, 5-6 question section.
The Speaking section is a 20-minute, 6 task section.
The Writing section is a 50-minute, 2 task section.
Totaling about 17-20 questions, 8 tasks, and around 240 minutes (4 hours) of examination time.
