About GRE

GRE (Graduate Record Examination)

Fear no more about the GRE. Attending graduate school is an accomplishment that you deserve to achieve. Our students learn complex writing, reading comprehension, and traps and tricks, so that they conquer their fears and attain this rite of passage. Our tutors have mastered the Analytical Writing section, the Verbal Ability section, and the Quantitative section. Each tutoring session will be designed to meet your specific needs. We have all of the necessary preparatory material so that students will feel equipped to study effectively. Most importantly we will be using the ideal study tool—real GREs. Our tutors will review both correct and missed questions with the students, explaining each clearly. We believe knowing the reason for a correct answer is as effective as knowing why a question was incorrect. All study programs will be laid out by your selected tutor on a calendar, as well as a day-to-day study schedule. We counsel students on the important, frequently overlooked details and issues in order to best manage their time, like when to use a calculator, prior-night planning, and what to do the morning of test day.

The exam is score on a 130-170 scale (130-170 for each multiple choice section and 0-6 for the essay section) and is administered on a computer.
The Verbal Reasoning Section is two 30-minute, 20 question sections.
The Quantitative Reasoning section is two 35-minute, 20 question sections.
The Analytical Writing section is a 60-minute, 2 essay question section.
Totaling 80 questions and around 225 minutes (3 hours and 45 minutes) of examination time.

David

I've tutored on-and-off most of my adult life. During college, I tutored high school and middle-school students. Most recently, I've tutored a group of at-risk students. I've been successful in tutoring because I find it easier to instill instinct and intuition than to teach rules and formulas. Helping with homework is a great way to find and fill...
